The Election Commission of Pakistan is an independent and self-governed Federal body incorporated under the constitution of Pakistan responsible for organizing the elections fairly. The elections are conducted for the National and Provincial assemblies, all the Local governments, and the office of the President.
The commission is responsible for everything regarding elections, from the start to the declaration of the results. ECP was incorporated in 1956 to lay the foundation of a just and fair system since then it has been developed into a structure to provide honest elections under the rules of law. It comprises a panel of 5 members with a Chief Election Commissioner as leader of the house.
