Frontier Works Organization operates under the constant supervision and principles of the Government of Pakistan and Pakistan Armed Forces simultaneously to build projects like roads, tunnels, bridges, airfields, dams, etc.

FWO and Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission has been in bed since 1985 and has designed different facilities. The most important project of the organization was to carve out the new Karakoram Highway.
